    producers and distributors
  • Potential for economic benefits through eco-tourism and agri-tourism

Getting to the Market

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Navigating summer traffic and finding parking in town can be challenging. We encourage our shoppers to seek alternate transportation – it will help ease congestion in the summer months and it may give you more time to shop!

The Wave – Nantucket Regional Transit Authority offers service to most areas of the island. Commuter books are available.

Ride Your Bike – With a well-maintained network of bike paths, Nantucket is often easier to navigate on two wheels than four. Online and printable bike path maps are available here. For a list of bike rack locations, click here.

Downtown Parking Information – If you do decide to drive to the Market, short-term on-street parking is possible on most streets surrounding the Market. (Be aware that the time limit for parking varies from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on where you park, so be sure to check the signs. The Nantucket Police Department is diligent about ticketing in the downtown area.) There is also a public parking lot behind the Town Building at 37 Washington Street.
