Thank You Pi Pizzeria!

23794261645_84c6943ef0_kThank you so much to Evan and Maria Marley and their awesome team at Pi Pizzeria for providing a wonderful finale to our 2015 Nantucket Grown Dinner Series! It was a full house and a full menu – with six delicious courses, creatively featuring locally sourced ingredients.

The event started with a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres: Deviled Eggs made with local eggs from Ray Owen’s Berry Patch Farm. Several other island growers, including Bartlett’s Farm, Lazy Man Gardens and Pumpkin Pond Farm, contributed seasonal produce to the dinner — and even this late in the season we could still taste the bounty of the island! A big thank you to Far Away Farms and the Ruthie B. CSF for providing local protein for the main courses, including Roasted Leg of Lamb and Seared Skate & Pan Roasted Lobster. Pi Pizzeria incorporated their own home grown apples into a dessert of Apple Crostata. What a feast!

Thank you again to all who contributed, especially Annye’s Whole Foods for providing the thoughtfully selected wine. And thank you to all of you who joined us in celebrating Nantucket Grown food this fall.
