Kids Farm to Fork Cooking Classes in March!

IMG_3747Calling all young chefs! Experience hands-on cooking classes with the Farm to School Program at the Nantucket Culinary Center every Thursday during the month of March! Our young chefs will learn how to cook while learning about where their food comes from and the importance of cooking and and eating sustainable grown food.

Each class is $35.00 and open to students age 7-13. Student’s will be divided into two groups ages 7-9 & 10-13. To register click the title of any of the following classes!

Root vegetables!Thursday, March 3rd, 3:00-4:30pm : Chips, noodles and coins! Students will not only learn three different recipes they can make with these vegetables but also learn about how important these vegetables were for our island ancestors.

Nantucket SmoothieThursday, March 10th, 3:00 – 4:30pm – Our young chefs will learn about the various fruits & berries grown on Nantucket while making a refreshing treat.

Stone Soup! Thursday, March 17th, 3:00-4:30pm – During this class our students will become “Green” chefs by learning about food waste and how to limit it by using the whole part of the plant.

Breakfast for DinnerThursday March 24th, 3:00 – 4:30pm – Students will explore what it takes to make a balanced meal using our favorite meal, breakfast! We will learn about eggs, whole grains and so much more!

Healthy DessertsThursday March 31st, 3:00 – 4:30pm – What better way to end the series that with dessert! in this final lesson our young chefs will learn to make their after dinner treats a little bit healthier with out losing that delicious flavor!
