Farm to School Summer Camp Sneak Peek

The Farm to School Summer Camp is quickly approaching! 2013 Sustainable Nantucket Agricultural Apprenticeships Available!

Sustainable Nantucket is seeking agricultural intern/ apprentices to participate in our Apprenticeship program. Successful candidates could be high school, college or post-college students, and will be paired with one of six island farms / growers, or with our Farm to School Coordinator — experiencing and participating in many aspects of small-scale farming in our sensitive island environment, from greenhouse cultivation to field planting and harvest to farm stand sales. Fun for All at Discover Your Garden/Family Picnic Day at the Joyce N. Furman FARM TO SCHOOL Youth Garden

Monday, October 10th marked Sustainable Nantucket’s first Discover Your Garden and Family Picnic Day at the Joyce N. Furman FARM TO SCHOOL Youth Garden. Over 75 people were in attendance, with Fire Chief Bill Pittman, Town Manager Libby Gibson, Nantucket Garden Club President Paulette Boling, and NPS Food Services Director Linda Peterson among them.
