Welcome to the 2nd edition of our Nantucket Grown™ Magazine!  As part of Sustainable Nantucket’s Nantucket Grown Campaign to raise awareness and consumer demand for local food and hand-made, artisanal products on the island, this magazine highlights individuals and business participating in the local food movement on Nantucket. In one article, we dive deeper into The Sweet Smell of Ambrosia with Claudia Boutillier Wallace to learn more about her unique Centre Street shop came to be. In another article, we explore the beautiful island-inspired designs of local artisan Keely Smith. Become a Part of the Nantucket Grown Campaign!

We proudly present to you three opportunities to be a part of the Nantucket Grown Campaign in 2012: through participating in the Nantucket Grown Brand, advertising in the Nantucket Grown Magazine, or both!

Participate in the Nantucket Grown Brand. Sustainable Nantucket is delighted to announce the availability of the Nantucket Grown Brand. This initiative aims to raise awareness about locally grown produce and products.  In order to achieve access to the Brand, a business must be consistently sourcing a percentage of their produce and products from local farms and purveyors.  Members who qualify will be able to use the Nantucket Grown logo in their branding and marketing, including use on their products, produce, menus, websites, and Facebook pages.  Read the rest of this entry »
